I guess AmEx doesn't want my business. I left

I paid off my AmEx Blue card $2,400 in full, then 2 weeks later, I tried to use my AmEx card on a trip and it was declined. I was embarrasssed. Then 4 days later, I received a letter stating that my card was canceled. I called customer service and they said one of the reasons I was canceled was because I was late on one payment last year (09/08). I explained to them that hurricane Ike came through Houston (where I live) and I was without power for 12 days and without mail service for a while and so I was late a few days on my payment. They seemed like they didn't care. So I just said Ok and will never use them again. Unreasonable. There are other banks out there I can use. I won't forget this.
